One of the most desirable areas in the State, without a doubt, is the McCarthy Kennicott area.
Here you have more to do then any place else; visit the historic, restored Kennicott Mine, hike on a glacier or visit some of the old mining sites in the Park.
Yes, it is a busy area, but that is what makes this parcel so special as here you are away from all the razzle and dazzle. And yes, it is a little hard to get to, but well worth it when there.
The owner mentioned that there is (marginal) ATV access off McCarthy Road near Mile 51 (by the old mailbox). It is a bit hidden away to keep it private.
The views you will have from this area are absolutely fantastic! And of course, you are literally surrounded by the biggest Park in the nation: Wrangell St. Elias National Park.
Please Google it so you see for yourself this magnificent area.
It is about a 7-hour drive from Anchorage with the last 50 some miles along the historic railroad bed that served the mine in years gone by. There are several turnouts to leave your car but be ready for about a half mile off the road adventure. Make sure you are handy with a GPS and print out the maps and directions as you may not have cell coverage, depending on your carrier.
Great price for a great location! Only $39,500.- Cash
