Chignik is mainly a commercial fishing village, with great emphasis on a subsistence lifestyle. But lately it has been discovered by sport fishing and hunting interests. Yes, it is very remote and it just what people are looking for when it comes to hunting or fishing.
Some of the popular spots up here, like the Kenai River and its combat fishing are a distaste for some of the real fishermen and it is this group of people who like to be out, far remote for anyone to enjoy.
The same holds true for Hunters. Areas like this produce some Trophy size Bears and big Moose.
This would be a great place to buy for two or three like minded people, to have a place to go to and enjoy their passions; be it Hunting or Fishing.

"The layout of the house is as follows:
The house is 2,300 sq ft approx. and fully furnished.
Downstairs there is a small entry way for rain gear and boots, then a large laundry room, a small bathroom (toilet, vanity, and shower, the shower stall is the only thing that needs to be upgraded) then into the dining area, the kitchen, to the right there are 2 guest bedrooms, then the master bedroom with a master bath. There is a door in the dining room the exits to the front deck which wraps around the entire downstairs, the back deck off the master bedroom is enclosed and I used it as a gardening shed.
The house has a lot of storage, a pantry, one closet is just shelves in one of the guest rooms, and the master bedroom closet has shelves and storage.
Upstairs is a living room and another bedroom, sliding glass doors that exit to the deck which wraps around the front. Part of the bag deck is enclosed...I used it for growing tomatoes...and then for storage.
The house is built on pilings. The entire crawls space is insulated with thermax and the pipes are all insulated. When it was -65 degrees one winter we were the only ones in the village whose water did not freeze.
This includes the shop also. The shop is about 1,200 square feet. It is a detached structure on a separate lot down a small hill from the house."
