The Big River area is about 80 miles SSE of McGrath and has long been known for its scenic beauty, remoteness and big game hunting.

Many a trophy sheep or moose have come from this area. This is where wolves and grizzlies roam, but this is not all. This seemingly endless valley is surrounded by glacier capped peaks and offers great mountain climbing!

Mt. Hesperus (almost 10,000') is just awaiting such a task. Or maybe you want to challenge yourself to explore the Revelation Mountains, the Revelation Glacier, etc. All of this is only a half a day hike from this property along the many gravel bars of Big River.
